The German ALS-/MND-Net is particularly focused on the implementation of multicenter clinical trials. This concerns both projects initiated by the centers themselves (Investigator Initiated Trials, IITs) and studies (Phase I-III) sponsored by the pharmaceutical industry.

MND-NET
for the industry
The German ALS/MND Network provides the optimal infrastructure for conducting multicenter ALS studies:
- All network centers are supra-regional reference centers specialized in ALS and other motor neuron diseases with years of experience both in patient care and in conducting clinical trials.
- A reliable and highly specialized infrastructure with ALS- and study-experienced staff exists.
- The network has a clinical database with approximately 7000 clinically well characterized patients, which allows rapid recruitment of large numbers of patients.
- In addition, there is a biobank with blood and CSF samples from approximately 6000 patients, which allows for the analysis of additional exploratory parameters
- The centers are optimally networked in the form of monthly network meetings in order to communicate study-relevant content of any kind in a timely and comprehensive manner.
